Virginia Barrett plays the mbira, a traditional instrument of the Shona people of Zimbabwe. Beginning October, 2002, Barrett spent six months living and studying mbira in Zimbabwe. Her songs are original lyrics and melodies sung
to traditional mbira pieces. Her debut CD Show Me The Way,was
released in May of 2004. This collection captures Virginia's experiences in
Zimbabwe, celebrating the people and culture
she has come to deeply respect.
